The James Jones Writers Workshop Retreat is a seven-day intensive writing program hosted at the A.C. Thomas House in New Harmony, Indiana. Established in the spirit of James Jones’, father of founder Kaylie Jones, literary legacy, the Retreat welcomes all whose calling is to pursue the craft of writing.
We are pleased to offer a variety of courses for writers at all levels, and in any stage of their writing journey. Our workshops are designed to challenge, inspire, and allow writers to generate new work, make progress on their existing project, and overcome challenges.
Our esteemed faculty of published authors, editors, and creative writing professors provide our writers with insightful and constructive feedback. Instructors are available to discuss feedback, your writing goals, or address writing-related concerns outside of workshop.
At the core of the James Jones Writers Workshop Retreat is the belief that writers make each other stronger. We are deeply committed to providing our writers with a safe environment, and hope that atmosphere is conducive to the development of a sense of community. It is our hope the relationships made in workshop will extend past the James Jones Writers Workshop Retreat.
